OBSCURA
2025
Reception as rewriting.
This is the second part of a two-part project. Null Signal, the first part, examines transmission and the condition of invisible sending.
Obscura addresses what happens on the other side: how systems receive, interpret, and reshape what arrives. The work studies aggregation and transformation—how input gets absorbed, compressed, encoded into something else. It asks whether meaning survives the gap between sender and receiver, or if it's reconstructed entirely in the act of listening.
Where one end of exchange remains obscured, reception becomes an act of rewriting. What arrives is never quite what was sent.
Working primarily under NDA means sending signals that don't return—effort that remains unseen, voice that goes unheard. These projects address that condition directly: what gets transmitted when the work stays hidden? What do people receive when the sender is obscured?
Null Signal and Obscura examine transmission and reception because those are the terms of the problem itself. They're a way to send something that actually arrives.
